Summer moved to Evanston last weekend to spend some time "breaking in" a new foster mom. Since I had never fostered before, IBR wanted to give me the easiest dog possible, and Summer is, without a doubt, the perfect choice! I have never met a dog that required lower maintenance!
I brought my boys with me to meet her (they had veto power on bringing her home) and after some initial how-do-you-do sniffs, the boys ambled off to check out the yard and Summer came up to me and asked to come home! Obviously, she's great with other dogs.
Since she's been home with us, she's shown that she's very good at establishing her boundaries with other dogs, both with the boys and at the dog park. A little growl and a sneer and each of them have understood and respected her, with no intervention needed.
Within a few days, however, she showed
her soft side and was laying close and a-l-m-o-s-t cuddling against them.
